                                    You Can Make a Difference!
A friend to our neighbors, a presence in Spokane, a witness to the world!

At Whitworth Community Presbyterian Church, we care about being disciples of Christ and about reaching out to others so they, too, will become disciples.  This process of discipleship begins inside our church and then reaches out into our neighborhood, our city, and the world as we become agents of Christ’s healing presence.  In a world desperately in need of this good news, you can make a difference!

Your Mission Commission takes seriously Christ’s command as recorded in Acts 1:8: You will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, in all of Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.

You can make a difference for Christ right here in Spokane (Jerusalem), or in the Inland Northwest (Judea and Samaria) or nationally and internationally (to the ends of the earth).  Where there is hunger, homelessness, poverty, disease, or loneliness, you can bring comfort, create hope, build relationships, and offer help through these mission opportunities:

Katrina Mission Trip

The aftermath of Hurricane Katrina left devastation everywhere in the New Orleans area, not just New Orleans.  WCPC is putting together a team of 10 volunteers to go to Pearlington, MS to aid a couple of families in rebuilding their homes and their lives.  This ministry is a great opportunity to help others as Christ helps us.  This is a chance to offer someone a "cold cup of water" by giving a little of ourselves to help someone else.  This mission trip will happen June 14-21.  We will fly into New Orleans on the 14th, get settled in, attend church Sunday morning, do something touristy on Sunday afternoon and get to work 1st thing  Monday morning.  We need to have this team assembled by April 30th so there is time to make flight arrangements at the best cost. A basic familiarity with tools is required for this mission trip. If you do not have these skills, classes are available through Home Depot or contact Floyd Johnson and he can give you some lessons too. Scholarships are available through  Presbyterian Disaster Assistance.  All necessary forms to fill out can be found right outside Tiffany Hall in the Welcome Center.  If you feel moved by the Holy Spirit to help, make the leap, for the Lord will be with you.  If you have any questions, feel free to call Floyd Johnson at 489-0368 or 290-0399.  Thankyou for considering this great opportunity.

If you would like to participate in this mission trip, please fill out and submit the following forms:
